We are a behavioral neuroscience lab within the Michigan Neuroscience Institute at the University of Michigan. Our research aims to uncover the neural mechanisms that promote maladaptive behavior. We are specifically interested in the psychological processes that determine how individuals respond to and interact with their surrounding environment, and the neural circuitry underlying these processes. Our ultimate goal is to identify the neural mechanisms that may render an individual particularly vulnerable to psychiatric conditions, like addiction. In doing so, we hope to improve treatment options and outcomes for individuals suffering from such disorders.
